A.J. Cook A.J. Cook is the Canadian actor most well-known for his role as Jennifer Jareau (JJ) in the films Criminal Minds and The Virgin Suicides in 1999 and 2003 respectively. She is an Mormon as well as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In her early years as a girl, she took tap, jazz, and ballet dance. After competing in numerous dance contests, she started acting when she was seventeen. The film Dirty Dancing starring Patrick Swayze encouraged her to become an actor. In the summer of 2001, Cook was married to her long-time lover Nathan Andersen, whom she attended a film workshop on film at Utah Valley University.
